Podi potta Sambar (for two people)

Ingredients : 

Puli(Tamirand)         -  size of a small lemon

or Tamirand paste    -  2 tea spoon

Thuvaram paruppu  -  4 table spoon

Sambar powder       - 1  1/2 tea spoon(one and half tea spoon)

Salt                         -  1  1/4 tea ( one and quarter tea spoon)

Vegetable like katharikkai/poosanikkai/parangikai/pagarkai/vendaikai/capsicum/carrot to put as THAN

Asafoetida(Perunkayam) - a small piece if katti perunkayam or two pinches if perunkaya powder.

For garnishing or To thalithal at the end.

Mustard(Kadugu)  -  1/4 tea spoon

Vendhayam(fenugreek) - less than 1/4 tea spoon

Red chilli                     - one

Cleaned and cut Kothumalli(coraindar leaves) and Karivepilai(kari patha) leaves.

Preparation:

Puli, thuvaram paruppu irandaiyum thanithaniyaga warm wateril oora vaikavum. Paruppai nandraga kazhuvi vittu, paruppu moozhugum varai thaneer serthu konjam manjal podiyum serthu, cookaril sadham vaikkum pozhudhu, adhan mel thattil vaithu vidavum. Aindhu whistle varum varai vaithalthan paruppu nandraga vegum.



Adhu oru pakkam rediyagattum. Oora vaitha puliyai kaigalal nandraga pisaindhal oora vaithirukkum thanneril kalandhu kettiyaga juice pola varum, adhai kuzhambu vaikka vendiya pathirathil otravum. Ithe pola moondru murai seidhu, kidaithirukkum puli thaneerai vadi katti adhil uppu, manjal podi, sambar podi matrum uppu serthu adupil vaikkavum.

Puli paste payan paduthinal irendu tea spoon puli pastai irandu glass thaneeril kalandhu adhil manjal thool, sambar podi uppu aduppil vaikkavum.

Kuzhambu kodhikka thuvangiyadhum adhil kathirkkai, poosanikkai, parangikai, murangaikkai, capsicum, carrot pondra endha karikaiyaga irundhalum adhai satru periyadhaga cut seidhu kodhithuk kondirukkum kuzhambil podavum.

Vendumanal innum konjam thaneer serthuk kollalam. Aindhu nimidangal kodhithathum adhan consistency eppadi irukkiradhu endru parungal. kettiyaga illamal, neerka irundhal oru tea spoon arisi mavai thaneeril karaithu kuzhambodu serthu udne nangu kalakki vidavum illavittal arisi mavu kattiyagai vidum. sariya padhathirku vandhadhum idupilirundhu irakki vaithu, aduppil thalithu kottuvadhrkaga irumbu karandi alldhu siriya kadaiyai vaithu, adhil ennai ootri, ennai kaindhadhum kadugai podavum, kadu vedithadhum vendhayam, oru sivappu milagi killiyadhu ivaigalai pottu kuzhambil kottavum. piragu podiyaga nurukkiya kothumalli thazhai matrum kaigalal killiya karivepilai ivaigalaiyum serthu moodi vaikkavum.
