MILAGOOTAL


Incredients:

Pudalangai(snake gourd)  - 2 no.s
Red chilli(vatral milagai) 4 no.s
Coconut(thengal thuruval) 5 tb.spoon
Jeera(Seeragam) half tea spoon
Urd dhall(ulutham puruppu) _ 2 tea spoon
Perunkayam one small portion
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder _ little

Thoor dhall(Thuvaram paruppu) one small cup






Preparation:

First cook Thoor dhall in pressure cooker seperately and keep aside.

Cut Pudalankai into small(not thin) pieces. Put in a vessel,add little water,turmeric powder and salt and cook.

Keep a small Kadai in the stove. Put one spoon of cooking oil. After it got heated up add ulutham puruppu.Once ulutham puruppu became slightly red add red chilli, and perungayam. Switch off the burner and add coconut and jeeragam. Grind all these in the mixie as a smooth paste. 

Add that paste with the boiling vegetable. Cook for five minutes, then add the cooked thoor dhall, cook for five more minutes. Switch off the burner. Garnish with kothu malli leaves and karipatha. Thaluchufy with mustard seeds,little ulutham puruppu and one red chilli.
Milagootal is ready.
